The Story Behind Silver Mountain Inlay

John Wojcik grew up in a small town in Massachusetts, where his appreciation for the outdoors began at an early age. That passion continued to grow throughout his life, leading him to pursue a wide range of outdoor interests, including mountain biking, snowmobiling, and exploring the mountains and wilderness around him.

While studying Art and Engineering, John developed a unique combination of creative vision and technical precision. After earning his degree in Engineering Technology, his love for the outdoors ultimately brought him west to Montana, where he was introduced to the intricate art of inlay.

What began as an interest quickly became a pursuit of craftsmanship. After years of studying and refining the traditional techniques of inlay, John set out to develop an approach of his own—one that combines his artistic background, engineering mindset, and exceptional attention to detail.

For more than 26 years, John has dedicated himself to creating distinctive inlay designs that transform knives and other fine pieces into works of art. Each original drawing and inlay is thoughtfully designed and meticulously executed, with an emphasis on precision, character, and craftsmanship.

As Silver Mountain Inlay grew, John taught his sister, Theresa, the art of cutting inlays. Today, she works alongside him, helping bring orders to life while carrying forward the same commitment to quality and craftsmanship that has defined Silver Mountain Inlay from the beginning.

Silver Mountain Inlay is the result of that lifelong passion—where art, engineering, and the spirit of the American West come together to create pieces that are meant to be admired, carried, and treasured for generations.
